Emblematic property of the André Lurton family vineyards
Acquired by André Lurton in 1967, Château Couhins-Lurton is the smallest of our six estates, but also the smallest of the Graves Crus Classés. This discreet jewel produces, each year, on 5.5 hectares, a white wine which is classified, and on 12 hectares, red wines just as remarkable. Previously known as the “sleeping beauty”, the property is undergoing a major architectural and landscape renovation project starting in spring 2021.
Its clay-limestone terroir produces a mineral Sauvignon Blanc and fruity, smooth Merlot. The wines are fermented and aged in 500 liter barrels and horizontal amphoras. A meticulous craftsman’s work that gives a very elegant and aromatic result.
