For the whites: a clay-gravel-limestone terroir

The 5.5 hectares of Château Couhins-Lurton vines are located on a gravel terrace at an altitude of 20 to 25 metres. Their particularity lies in the clay-limestone bedrock which regulates the water supply of the plant, even in the driest years. The limestone helps maintain the acidity necessary for the aromatic expression of the Sauvignon Blanc.
